Thyristor drives are suitable for dc shunt wound or permanent magnet motors. The mains supply is phase controlled to give a variable armature voltage which is approximately proportional to speed. Current limit protects the motor and controller and may be used as a torque control. Additional armature inductance is often compulsory and improves form-factor and brushwear. EMC filtered units are also available. |

Pulse width modulated controllers operate from a dc supply or a rectified and smoothed ac supply. They are suitable for low voltage speed control and provide smooth speed control with a low form-factor. Suitable for light vehicles and trolleys where simple rugged reliability is required. |

DC softstart and torque controls provide various methods of performance control where full speed regulation is not required.

Inverter drives operate from single phase mains supply and produce variable frequency three phase control of standard induction motors. They are also suitable for use with some single phase induction motors. Higher KW three phase input Inverter drives are also available. |

A range of unregulated power supplies provide 12-24-48 Vdc at up to 6 and 12 amps. These are particularly suitable for operating low voltage motors from 230V or 115Vac supplies when used in conjunction with dc motor controls. |
